Charge Sheet against Pramod by BJP out of Frustration – Amrith Shenoy

Udupi: AICC member Amrith Shenoy on Saturday, March 24 said that the BJP and former MLA Raghupathi Bhat released a ‘Chargesheet’ against minister Pramod Madhwaraj out of ‘frustration’ fearing defeat in the coming Assembly polls.

Addressing the media persons at the Press Club, Amrith Shenoy said that, BJP was making such “baseless” allegations, out of “frustration” against Pramod Madhwaraj after realising that the party will not win in the coming Assembly polls in the district. The former MLA Raghupathi Bhat who had failed to develop the district during his tenure was indulging in such “false and baseless” allegations against Pramod who has worked for the overall development of Udupi district.

The Udupi assembly constituency has been developed in all areas. The MLA, as well as minister Pramod Madhwaraj, has given a transparent administration. During the time of elections, the opposition parties are putting baseless allegations against him. The allegations that are made by Raghupathi Bhat are just a bundle of lies. The BJP thinks that the people of the Udupi are dumb, and will believe them. The people of Udupi will give another chance to Pramod Madhwaraj as MLA, he added.

Former MLA Bhat has alleged that Pramod Madhwaraj had failed to develop the roads in Udupi into four lanes. By developing only the roads into four lanes, the living standard of the people cannot improve, Pramod Madhwaraj has given priority to the basic needs like water, drainage system, and electricity. The previous MLA failed to fulfil the basic priorities in Udupi constituency. Before being elected as the MLA Pramod Madhwaraj had provided free drinking water spending his own money in the Udupi constituency. If the BJP did the same then why did the people of Udupi defeat the BJP candidate in the 2013 assembly elections, he questioned.

We have been able to give stable governance without any scandals. Such a government without infighting has not been seen in the last few decades in the state. In Udupi district, three Congress MLA’s have done tremendous development work. The party workers are in full confidence to win all the 5 assembly seats in the district, he added.

Udupi district Congres vice president Prakyath Shetty said that there is no question of the district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj joining the BJP. Pramod Madhwaraj has never cheated the Congress party. There is no confusion in the party about Pramod Madhwaraj.

The minister has made a whopping contribution in terms of development and has remained transparent.

Madhwaraj has organised Jana Samparka Sabhe in all wards. His clean administration has indeed brought him closer to the masses. He is responsible for the Rs 2000 crore worth of projects taken up in Udupi assembly constituency. Pramod will remain in Congress and the rumours are baseless, he said.
District Youth Congress president Vishwas Ameen, District youth congress general Secretary and District congress Social media team head Vignesh Kini, District OBC congress president Yathish Karkera, District Congress IT cell vice president NeeraJ Patil were present in the press meet.
