Cheated by Lover, Girl Commits Suicide at Saibarkatte; accused Chethan Shetty Arrested
Udupi: The Brahmavar Police have succeeded in arresting the accused in the 26-year-old girl Anisha Poojary’s death case.
The Arrested has been identified as Chethan Shetty, the boyfriend of Anisha Poojary.
26-year-old Anisha Poojary committed suicide in Saibarkatte after Chethan Shetty had allegedly sexually exploited her with a promise to marry her but later went back on his word. The girl committed suicide on August 21, but the family members filed a complaint against Chethan Shetty after three days of her death at the Brahmavar Police Station.
The duo fell in love, and Chethan reportedly promised that he would marry her. Many times he took her to his residence and hotels, where he sexually exploited her. She had asked him many times to marry her as he had promised and shared a physical relationship with her. Recently he had refused to marry Anisha saying that his family does not agree to the marriage. Anisha was disappointed by Chethan Shetty’s decision and decided to take the extreme step.
Depressed Anisha had gone out from home on August 21 saying that she was going to a house warming ceremony but never returned. Her body was found at Jamboor near Saibarkatte in the forest area. She had committed suicide by hanging herself to a tree. Before committing suicide, she had sent a Suicide note to her friend.
Earlier the family members did not take the case seriously, but after the death note was found, they registered a complaint against Chethan Shetty.
The Brahmavar police registered a case of rape, cheating and abetment to suicide against Chethan Shetty. On September 3, the Brahmavar Police arrested Chethan Shetty in Bengaluru. Further investigation is on in this regard.
