Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s divorce delayed over financial issues
London, May 23 (IANS) Singer Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s divorce from her estranged husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini is reportedly being delayed by a cash row.
The singer, who is s currently dating One Direction singer Liam Payne, wanted a quick divorce, but they are still at loggerheads over money, reports mirror.co.uk.
“Cheryl filed for divorce before Christmas and hoped things would be done and dusted by now as she is keen to move on with her life and new relationship with Liam. This should have been dealt with absolutely ages ago but things have turned very sour,” said a source.
The source added: “Jean-Bernard has hired top lawyers to make sure he doesn’t walk away empty-handed so obviously that has led to things getting very messy.”
Despite her vast fortune – estimated to be around 12 million pounds, Cheryl didn’t signed a pre-nup before marrying.
They got married in secret in front of four guests on the Caribbean island of Mustique in August 2014, three months after they started dating. The pair split 19 months later.
