Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai Inaugurates ‘Cartoonu Habba’

Kundapura: The four-day-long ‘Cartoonu Habba’ (Cartoon Festival) under the theme of ‘cyber’ organised by Cartoon Kundapur was inaugurated at the Kalamandir auditorium, Board High School, here on November 26.

Annamalai K Superintendent of Police Chikkamagaluru inaugurated the Cartoonu Habba.

In his message Annamalai said that Cartoons are the best way to express your feelings and happenings in the society. It is a critical profession but is a power full media to show the developments in the country. Behind a minutes smile, there are many hours’ efforts of a cartoonist involved. Many times cartoonists are criticised for their cartoons, during such time the public should stand with Cartoonists. We should support their rights of expression through the cartoons, he added.

Ramakrishna Herle, senior cartoonist, was felicitated by SP Annamalai. Dr P V Bhandary, psychiatrist, A V Baliga Hospital, U S Shenoy, senior journalist, Udaykumar Shetty, President of Rotary Club, Sathish Acharya Cartoonist were also present.

As many as 120 cartoons and caricatures by 20 cartoonists are on display. The cartoons from Satish Acharya, Jayaram Udupa, Panju Gangolli, Santosh Sasihithlu, Chandrashekhar Shetty, Suresh Kota, Kalaikar, Ramakrishna Herle, Dinesh Holla, Ravikumar Gangolli, Subrahmanya, Chandra Kodi, Ganesh Hebbar, Sudheendra, Pradeep Achar, and Raviraj are on display at the exhibition.
