Children’s Day Celebrated at Angelore Church

Mangaluru: Children’s day was observed in the Angelore Church on 18th November 2018 in a unique way. An open-air stage with Hi-Tech touch was all set up to display the children’s talents. The programme was declared open at 5:30 p.m. by Vicar Fr. William Menezes along with Asst. Parish priest Fr Denzil Lobo, Roshan Patrao the vice president of PPC and Dora Rodrigues, the secretary of PPC by releasing the balloons. God’s blessings were invoked by a prayer song sung by the children belonging to the various classes. More than a hundred and thirty-five students showcased their talents either acting in hilarious skits or singing songs in different languages. A few children got an opportunity to compere the programme. They did their job well.

In a stage programme, the winners of lucky games, quiz and photograph competition were awarded prizes. Asst. Fr Denzil Lobo in his address said that he was reminded of his childhood days. If children are encouraged, they will be confident enough to bring out their potentialities. Vicar Fr William Menezes congratulated every child for participating and said, “A month ago, I asked you to give your children to us and today they are transformed by bringing out their talents extraordinarily. Let’s sacrifice our today so that our children have a better tomorrow.”

Main sponsors and the trainers of choreography and singing, who were instrumental for the success of the programme were honoured with a floral bouquet. Victor Rasquinha was specially honoured with a shawl, flowers and fruits for being an artist and for his all-round service all these years.

Maxim and his team did a marvellous job in organizing and coordinating the whole programme. Adelin Pinto delivered the vote of thanks and Wencita Dias compered the stage programme. The programme was concluded singing ‘Oh give Thanks….’
