Christians Celebrated Maundy Thursday in Khar West Mumbai Archdioceses
Mumbai: Maundy Thursday was celebrated by Christians on April 13 in Khar West Mumbai Archdioceses Auxiliary Bishop Dr Percival J E Fernandez washed the Feet of the Laypersons and celebrated the Maundy Thursday along with the Eucharistic Celebration (Mass) in St Vincent De Paul Church, Khar West Mumbai.
Maundy Thursday is celebrated as the day prior to Good Friday. Lord Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday, before his Crucification he had his last supper with his 12 disciples and washed their feet as a symbol of love and said, “What I have done unto you do that unto your neighbours”. So, all Christians Celebrate Maundy Thursday in their churches. Parish Priest Fr Milton Gonsalves, Assistant Priest Fr Vinay Rodrigues and Fr Xavier Pinto Were present in the Eucharistic Celebrations.
