Mangaluru: Aslam Alam (34), a constable serving at the local unit of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) which looks after the security at the airport, died in tragic circumstances late Sunday night.
He was on night patrol riding the CISF motorcycle. Somewhere between the old and the new runways, he fell into a pit dug for laying cables. He sustained critical injuries in the head and was rushed in the airport ambulance to a private hospital in the city. He died of the injuries the same night.
A case has been registered by the Bajpe police.
