City police arrest 5 persons in Zubair murder case

City police arrest 5 persons in Zubair murder case

Mangaluru: “The city police have arrested 5 persons on October 11,  in connection with the murder case of Zubair at Mukkacheri on October 4. The accused will be produced before the court and taken into  police custody for further investigations,” said the police Commissioner T R Suresh in a press meet held at the police Commissioner’s office here on October 11.

The arrested have been identified as Suhail alias Abdul Rahiman (23) from Mukkacheri, Nizamuddin (23) from Ullal, Mohammed Mustafa  (21) from Someshwar, Tajuddin alias Hassan Tajuddin  (24) from Ullal and Asif alias Manda Asif (40) from Mukkacheri.

Addressing the mediapersons T R Suresh said, “On October 4, when Zubair along with Elyas were returning from the Mosque at 7.50 pm, Suhail and his group hacked Zubair to death. In the attack Elyas was injured and he is under treatment. To trace the culprits we had formed 4 special teams.

The four teams led by Gopi Krishna PI Ullal, Rajendra PSI and Team, Sudhakar PSI Mangaluru Rural police station, Ashok PI Konaje and South subdivision and Valentine D’Souza ACP, Sunil Naik PI and CCB team succeeded in nabbing the accused.

The teams collected necessary information and came to know that the accused Nizamuddin had fled to Bengaluru in his swift Dezire car bearing registration number KA 19 AC 0304 after the crime. Based on the information the teams succeeded in arresting five of the accused. Others accused of this crime will soon be arrested.

The accused Suhail is involved in various crimes and four cases have been registered against him. Accused Tajuddin is involved in a stone pelting case, a dacoity case has been registered against accused Mohammed Mustafa in the Mangaluru Rural police station, another accused Nizamuddin is involved in an assault case in the Ullal police station and 10 cases have been registered against Manda Asif in the Ullal police station.

Under the able guidance of police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, DCP Crime and Traffic Uma Prashanth and ACP Ram Rao the operation was carried out by four teams.
