City Police Launch unique campaign ‘I am Guilty’ to Stop Lockdown Violations

Mangaluru: The district administration has taken strict measures with the lockdown and section 144 in the district. The administration has also requested people to maintain social distance and to stay home to be safe. With all the restrictions and measures being taken, some people are still not serious about the deadly Coronavirus.

People are now allowed to buy essential commodities from 6 am to 12 noon maintaining social distance. In many other districts, the police resorted to lathi-charge when people were found loitering on the streets.

In Mangaluru city, police commissioner Dr Harsha has requested NGOs to come forward to create awareness among the people about COVID-19 and social distancing to control the spread of the deadly virus. Volunteers of Ramakrishna Mission have come forward and are doing a commendable job in this regard.

Now with another new initiative, the Mangaluru police have launched a unique campaign in Mangaluru city in conjunction with Ramakrishna Mission. Wherein the lockdown violaters are made to hold a placard which reads, “I am guilty, I have violated COVID-19 lockdown orders”.

With this initiative, people of the city will surely not take chances and “stay home, stay safe” thus helping in the fight against COVID-19.
