City Total Lockdown Day-3! Police on Strict Vigil Cracking Down on Violators of Covid-19 Guidelines

Mangaluru: It’s Day-3 of the total lock down enforced in Mangaluru by District Minister in charge Kota Srinivas Poojary, DC, Police Commissioner, MLA and other authorities, and it is getting tougher and tougher for citizens to cope with it. With milk booths and central market open only for couple of hours during the morning time, a few medical shops have opened for business from 7 am till 3 pm, to cater to the needs of the people. Other than that everything else is close, and streets look deserted with no vehicle movement, other than emergency and permitted vehicles.

While all shops are closed, a paanwalla opposite to Dolphin Restaurant/Shiva Bagh cafe was trying to make a few bucks by selling gutka, cigarettes etc from the back door- and Team Mangalorean spotting this took a few photos and warned the petty shop owner to shut his shop- which he agreed with fear. Police should crack down on these paanwalla and gutka sellers, because they are a nuisance, during this time of virus disease. Their customers spit wherever they feel like, thereby abuse swachatha of Mangaluru.

In the meantime City police commissioner Dr P S Harsha, noticing that a few people are unnecessary loafing around on bikes or in their cars, has issued a stern warning to them on his tweeter stating, “We have noticed that some people have been going around on merry rides on the roads. Both two-wheeler and four- wheeler riders engage in such joyrides. Our traffic division has noted down the registration numbers of such vehicles. The officials will soon be approaching the owners of vehicles for seizing the vehicles. Take note of the initiative, comply with lock down instructions and stop risking the lives of other citizens,”

Like I said earlier in my article “Janarige Innu Saha Bashe Ella”- and that’s happening even today, where a bunch of them were on the streets for no reason at all, some youth even on a triple ride on their bikes. There has been long queues in front of medical stores; especially Radha Medicals and Ganesh Medicals, where people are stocking up on their medicines, fearing they may not get them later,a s of now many medical stores are not getting the supply in time, due to lock down and manpower.

Wow- come tomorrow, 31 March some good news, where the lockdown is slightly relaxed, where citizens can go shopping from 6 am till 3 pm, to buy their essentials, but ONLY those essentials which are really needed should be purchased as per MLA Vedavyas Kamath, wherein a WhatsApp page, his message states, “Namaskara Kudla, This crisis is NEW to all of us. So each has their own opinion on how to tackle this. So here is an update and BIG REQUEST. We have had several meetings and discussions and we have come to a conclusion, we also wanted to be sure before giving relaxation. This is the time to alert, Smart and quick. Tuesday on 31st March, there will be a relaxation of Lockdown from Morning 6 AM to 3 PM. THIS WILL be continued only on the basis of CITIZENS on how they tackle this RELAXATION.

Here is MY request for you. Planned some detailed things:

2. It should be QUICK as others will be waiting outside.
