Civic Body Honours Palimar Swamiji during Poura Sanmana

Udupi: Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimar Math who will ascend the Paryaya Peetha for the second time on January 18 here, was honoured by the devotees and Udupi City Municipal Counil here at the car street on Wednesday, January 3.

The function was presided over by Paryaya Shri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, the Swamiji congratulated Shri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji. Vidwan Haridas Bhat retired principal of Poornaprajna Vidyapeetha delivered the felicitation speech.

Udupi city municipal council president Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje along with Pramod Madhwaraj district minister in-charge, Vinay Kumar Sorake MLA Kaup and commissioner Manjunathaiah honoured the Swamiji on behalf of the Udupi citizens. D Veerendra Hegde, Balaji Raghavendra Acharaya and others honoured the Swamiji on behalf of the Paryaya reception committee side.

Palimar Swamiji released a Special Postal cover to Mark his Second Paryaya on the occasion.

Junior Swamiji of Pejawar Math Sri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji, Chairman of Alvas Education Trust Dr Mohan Alva, Nadoja G Shanker, Sri Vidyathma Theertha Swamiji of Prayaga, Eshwar Prasad Nambooduri chief priest of Sri Kshetra Badarinath and others were present on the occasion.
