Clap…Clap? ‘Nakali Transgenders’ Harassing and Soliciting Money from Public
Clap…Clap? ‘Nakali (Fake) Transgenders’ Harassing and Soliciting Money from Public. If you come across these “Nakali” women call police at 100 immediately or if possible catch them and hand them over to the police.
Mangaluru: There is a gang of five-six women hailing from Maharashtra (or could be North India), who have loitering around the City- and they always disguise as Transgenders, with their signature act of “clapping”, thereby demanding/begging for money. These women pretend to be transgenders to gain sympathy of commuters, and earn money. Police should also try to investigate and find out if they are a part of any organised racket. It is learnt that these women have also been involved in some stealing from the public here and there but released.
Last year three of these impersonators/fake transgenders- were out of luck when they tried to steal a purse containing about Rs 1000 in smaller denominations, and also a mobile phone from an innocent young lady- and were caught and beaten up by the public. Team Mangalorean had published a report on this incident (Ref:http://www.mangalorean.com/clap-clap-fake-transgenders-thrashed-by-public-for-theft/)
Once again, it seems like these fake transgenders are back in action, and trying to loot money from strangers, especially men. They harass you, put hands on you, and won’t leave until money is given to them. And people assuming them as transgenders, out of pity give money and these women earn easy money illegally. Public are warned not to give any money if you suspect women in disguise, who are con artists trying to spoil the image of good transgenders.
Have a close look at the above pictures, and if you see them loitering anywhere in the City, call police at 100 immediately or catch them and hand them over to the police. Yesterday, yours truly of Team Mangalorean and Home Guard Abdul Rauf, tried to catch these fake transgenders, but they managed to run amidst the crowded traffic towards railway station area. But Team Mangalorean was quick enough to capture their faces on camera.
