Clashes between Local and OLA cab Drivers at MIA, 6 Injured
Mangaluru: At least 6 persons were injured when the Local cab drivers refused an OLA cab driver to drop the passengers from the city at the MIA on November 7.
Speaking to mangalorean.com one of the local cab Driver said, “From the past 40 years we have prepaid counters at the airport and the local cab operators are operating from the Bajpe airport at a reasonable fare. Recently the airport authority had given permission to the OLA cab drivers to operate from the airport.”
He further said, “The airport authority has not only given permission but they have also provided a prepaid counter to the OLA cab drivers to operate from the airport. Today when an OLA cab driver brought passengers from the city to drop at the airport. Our drivers did not allow him to park the car. There was a commotion between two groups which led to clashes between them and six persons from both the groups were injured. They have now been admitted to the A J and District Wenlock Hospitals.”
A case and counter case has been filed in the Bajpe police station.
This is sheer rowdism and the Police are incompetent.
