Cloudburst and Flash Floods Damage Houses in Hebri

Hebri: A sudden cloudburst near Mudradi’s Balladi triggered flash floods, inundating homes and fields, and sweeping away vehicles.

On Sunday, between 2:30 pm and 3:45 pm, heavy rainfall pounded Eshwaranagar in Balladi, causing flash flooding. Water entered around eight homes in Mudradi’s Hosakambal, Kantharabail, and Kelakila areas.

Two cars and several bikes were washed away, while family members trapped inside their homes were rescued using ropes and ladders. Fortunately, no lives were lost.

The Balladi-Tundaguddde road connecting Mudradi was blocked due to flooding, forcing locals to use alternative routes. A cow shed collapsed, resulting in one cattle missing, and strong winds, thunder, and lightning were reported.

According to sources, lightning strikes damaged several houses in Mudradi, Padukuduru, and Elagoli.

Mudradi Gram Panchayat member Ganapati Mudradi confirmed that the cloudburst on Kabbinale Hill caused heavy rainfall and flash flooding within hours, affecting homes.
