CM HDK to inaugurate Silver Jubilee of Dr Rajendra Kumar as President of SCDCC Bank

CM HDK to inaugurate Silver Jubilee of Dr Rajendra Kumar as President of SCDCC Bank  

Mangaluru: “Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will inaugurate the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Dr Rajendra Kumar as president of SCDCC Bank. Dr Rajendra Kumar is the only person to complete 25 years as President of the Co-operative bank in the entire country and it is a proud moment for all of us. More than 2 lakh people will gather at the Nehru Maidan to celebrate the silver Jubilee”, said the president of the Celebration committee Deviprasad Shetty in a press meet held at the SCDCC Bank premises here on January 14.

Addressing the media persons Deviprasad Shetty said, “On January 19, at 9:00 am, former CM Sadananda Gowda will flag off the procession from the SCDCC Bank premises. The programme will be inaugurated by CM H D Kumaraswamy and the Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala Dr Veerendra Heggade will preside over the function. DCM Dr G Parameshwar, Minister D K Shivakumar, Veerappa Moily and district minister in-charge U T Khader will also actively take part in the programme.”

Deviprasad further said, “More than 2 lakh people from Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu will take part in the programme. We have made arrangements for 2 lakh food packets which will be served for all the attendees. It will be a historic programme and the CM will confer “Sahakari Bhushan” award on Dr Rajendra Kumar on the occasion. Vehicle arrangements, as well as accommodation, is also arranged for all the attendees in the city”.

Deviprasad also said, “From Uttara Kannada and Shivamogga nearly 10,000 members will arrive on January 18 and we have reserved 19 halls for them. More than 50,000 people will take part in the procession and under the leadership of Dr Mohan Alva a colourful procession will be held from the SCDCC Bank premises and will culminate at the Nehru Maidan. We have reserved 10 parking places in the city and 300 volunteers will take the responsibility to keep the city clean. 1000 volunteers and 450 home guards have also been appointed to assist in the smooth conduct of the programme. We have ordered 2 lakh packets of food for all the attendees. This time we have erected German type pendal for both the grounds in the Nehru Maidan. There will be cultural programme from the students of Alva’s Foundation”.
