CM Siddaramaiah Dedicates Rs 445 crore worth Development Projects for Kaup Constituency
Udupi: Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah, dedicated various development projects that have been made possible with the special interest of Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake at Kaup on January 8.
The chief minister inaugurated the prestigious Kaup Town Municipal Building built at a cost of Rs 5 crore. The Kaup Taluk Hospital worth Rs 1.30 crore, Road work worth Rs 26.377 crore, Lake, Gardens, crematorium development work worth Rs 5 crore and SC/ST development work worth Rs 5 crore.
Siddaramaiah also laid the foundation stone for the cyclone shelter building worth Rs 2.45 crore, Road work under various departments worth Rs 76.033, Bridges worth Rs 2 crore, Nagarothana work worth Rs 8.50 crore, Solid waste plant worth Rs 5 crore, Seawall protection work worth Rs 179.45 crore, residential school worth Rs 10 crore, Gram Vikas work worth Rs 5 crore, Government Polytechnic building worth Rs 8 crore, Drinking water facility work worth Rs 61 crore, Science center worth Rs 50 crore and other development works.
On behalf of the Kaup citizens, there was a public felicitation to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for announcing Kaup as Town Municipality and Taluk centre.
Addressing the gathering CM Siddaramaiah said that Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake is known for simplicity, he is a very active MLA. He has worked as a minister for 3 years in my cabinet. During the cabinet reshuffle when he lost his post, he never reacted in any negative manner, he has worked tirelessly for the development of his constituency. In the coming days, he will again be a minister.
Siddaramaiah further said that in 2013 our national president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other MLA’s gave me an opportunity to become the chief minister of the state. I am satisfied with my role. The state government has fulfilled all its promises it had made to the people during the elections. 155 out of the 165 promises have been fulfilled. The rest will be fulfilled soon. In fact, several schemes which were not mentioned in the manifesto were also implemented.
Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi too, Siddaramaiah imitated the famous slogan Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas, in Modi’s typical style and said that the slogan is confined to words. But, the Congress has taken everybody in the society in the path of progress, unlike the BJP.
Karnataka Government has successfully implemented various programmes meant for all the people irrespective of caste and creed. The motto of the state government is to make Karnataka free of hunger, huts, droughts and malnutrition. But BJP is claiming to make Karnataka free of Congress. What is the contribution of the BJP to the poor people, farmers, Dalits, minority and women, he sought an answer?
We need not learn lessons from those who went Jail. Having B.S. Yeddyurappa by his side Shah talks of corruption of the Congress government. BJP had no moral right to comment on the State government that had administered a “scam-free governance” in the last four years and has fulfilled a majority of the promises made in its election manifesto.
People who are aware of these facts have been continuously supporting the Congress. During the bypolls there was a misinformation campaign by the BJP, with its leaders making baseless allegations against the Congress candidates. Congress, on the other hand, focussed on emphasizing its development works. Finally, the people favoured the Congress.
Reacting to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s critical remarks on the state government during a recent public function in Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah said, Yogi Adityanath knows nothing about Karnataka. The state government does not need his counsel on Karnataka’s development; we know better what needs to be done for our state. Adityanath should better focus on the development of Uttar Pradesh which is a ‘Jungle Raj’.
We follow Hinduism which has humanism at its core, whereas the Sangh Parivar are neither Hindus nor have humane principles. Swami Vivekananda said Hinduism comes from our actions and humane principles and not because of the food habits, he added.
State Food and Civil Supplies minister U T Khader, Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, District minister in-charge Pramod Madhwaraj, Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes also spoke on the occasion.
