CM Siddaramaiah Inaugurates Congress Office at Mallikatta
Mangaluru: The newly constructed District Congress office was inaugurated by the Chief minister Siddaramaiah by cutting the ribbon at Mallikatta, here on November 19.
After the inauguration, KPCC President and Home minister Dr G Parameshwar addressing the mediapersons said, “In Dakshina Kannada, the Congress party did not have its own office. The All India Congress committee president Sonia Gandhi had advised having their own party office in Dakshina Kannada. Following her advise, 11 months ago, we had laid the foundation stone for the congress office in Mallikatta”.
He further said, “The President of the District Congress committee Ramanath Rai three months ago requested to complete to complete the work, and because of his efforts today we have inaugurated the office. The District congress office is dedicated to the former prime minister Indira Gandhi and it is a befitting tribute from the congress party workers to a great leader”.
Dr Parameshwar also said, “The newly constructed office will help us to carry out all our party work to win the forthcoming 2018 elections. In the newly constructed Congress office building, we will have the Youth congress office, the Seva dal, Mahila Congress and NSUI offices”.
Later during a stage programme. The owner of J V Sons Sitharam who had given the old Congress office to the congress party free of cost for 40 years was felicitated by CM Siddaramaiah. Ramanath Rai, Sashidhar Hegde and others were also felicitated by the Chief Minister.
