CM Siddaramaiah to Inaugurate ‘Indian Karate Championship 2017’ on Nov 4
Mangaluru: “Self Defence School of Indian Karate (SDSIK) stepped to Dakshina Kannada – the land of tradition, culture and rituals, in the year 1977. This art being formed by our Founder-Grandmaster B M Narasimhan, 10th Dan Red Belt from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. SDSIK has more than 35 years of excellence in training and grooming thousands of students who are molded to be a disciplined, well mannered, educated most of all successful in every walk of their lives by the blessings and guidance of our Grandmaster in Mangaluru”, said the founder president of Indian Karate and chairman of Shree Devi Education Trust Sadananda Shetty in a press meet held at hotel Janatha Deluxe Pathumudi, here on October 31.
Addressing the mediapersons Sadananda Shetty said, “The hard and quality training of Indian karate did not limit to men but was also taken up as a Self Defense and fitness module by most of the women and one of the most successful karateka we have is Kavitha Sanil who marked her place in the International Platform emerging as the International Karate Champion”.
Addressing the Mediapersons Mayor Kavitha Sanil said, “Sadananda Shetty welcomed this art with great enthusiasm and support and has been the backbone of Indian karate from the beginning of time and is the Founder President of this Karate Club in Mangalore. Indian Karate Mangalore dojo has produced numerous well qualified and expert Karatekas and Black Belts. Master Srinivas, aged 59 yrs is one of the finest students till date that Grandmasters training has produced along with many others like Antony Paul (Bruce Lee of Indian Karate), Anil Bhandary (International Champion) etc. is a perfect example of the fine blend of the art into the lives of individual”.
Kavitha further said, “We are holding a National lever open Karate Tournament for the first time in Mangaluru and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is coming for the inaugural programme. I had requested the CM to inaugurate the tournament and he has consented to come especially for the inauguration programme. Minister D K Shivakumar will be attending the valedictory function. The people of Mangaluru will get an opportunity to watch the open Karate tournament. More than 2,500 participants will take part in the tournament.”
