CM visits Deepak and Basheer’s houses, consoles Families
Mangaluru: Chief minister Siddaramaiah visited Deepak Rao’s house at Katipalla here on January 7.
CM Siddaramaiah is in Mangaluru to inaugurate the musical fountain and the children’s train at Kadri park.
Earlier CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated various projects in Beltangady, Puttur and Moodbidri. After the inauguration in Moodbidri, Siddaramaiah visited Deepak’s house in Katipalla and met his mother and other family members and consoled them. Deepak was brutally murdered at Katipalla on January 3.
Later CM Siddaramaiah visited Basheer’s house at Akash Bhavan. Basheer was brutally attacked by the assailants on January 3, when he was about to close his fast food outlet in Kottara Chowki.
Consoling the family members CM Siddaramaiah said, “We have taken the murder cases of Deepak and Basheer very seriously. I have already instructed the police to take stern action against those who have committed this heinous crime and punish them according to the law. We have already announced Rs 10 lakh compensation to both the families.”
District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, MLA Moideen Bava, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Chief whip Ivan D’Souza, DC Sasikanth Senthil, Police Commissioner T R Suresh and others were also present.
