CM Yogi failed to Protect Children in UP, how will he Protect People of DK? – Kumaraswamy
Mangaluru: “The Bharatiya Janata Party has organized the Jana Suraksha Yatra in Mangaluru and have invited the UP CM Yogi Adityanath to deliver the speech. I think that there are no eligible leaders in the BJP to deliver the speech during the Jana Suraksha Yatra. BJP is not giving importance to development work but is busy in giving statements on the murders of Hindu activists being killed. In his own state Yogi Adityanath has failed to provide safety to the innocent children, how can he come here and protect the people through his speech?, questioned former CM and state president of JD(S) H D Kumaraswamy in an interaction session held at Hotel Taj Gateway here on March 6.
Addressing the mediapersons H D Kumaraswamy said, “Today I have toured the DK district to discuss on the political issues and other development works. I am here to discuss with intellectuals about the forthcoming elections. The people of DK are intellectuals and they should decide. In the state, Congress and the BJP are not giving importance to the development work, infact, they are busy in blaming each other. The BJP alleges that after Congress came to power Hindu Youth are not safe and many Hindu activists have been killed. The Home Minister has released a list of those who have been killed. This shows both the parties are not working towards retaining peace in the society. From the past four days the BJP is organizing the Yatra. They are coming from four places and getting together in Mangaluru. I request the BJP leaders to highlight the development work and what the BJP has done to maintain peace and harmony in the district. In the coastal district we see communal violence and the people living in fear.”
H D Kumaraswamy further said, “For today’s rally BJP has invited Yogi from UP. I ask the BJP leaders whether they lack leaders in Karnataka? Are the leaders in Karnataka dumb to call Yogi for the programme? Some BJP leaders have accepted commission through cheques, some BJP leaders were caught while watching porn. I think that the people of Dakshina Kannada district have lost their trust in Karnataka BJP leaders. Being the CM of UP he was unable to save the life of innocent children who were admitted to the Baba Raghav Medical college in Gorakhpur, UP. Such a CM is coming to Mangaluru to deliver a speech, when he himself is unable to safeguard the innocent children what protection can CM Yogi provide? BJP is good in giving names to their programme. For vote bank BJP has divided the Hindus and Muslims, BJP should change their attitude first. The people of DK are intellectuals. I request the people of DK to take a decision to stop the national parties who are involved in anti social activities and stop them from coming to power for a better future”.
Kumaraswamy also said, “Siddaramaiah says “I don’t need the support from JD(S), but I say JD(S) has not applied to join hands with the Congress. We did not come to your doorstep but you Siddaramaiah came to JD(S) when he was in need. During the elections to defeat BJP in Nanjangoodu and Gundlupet, Siddaramaiah came to us. If you want to win the elections I have given you a suggestion and have not come to you asking support for JD(S). We have the capacity to fight the elections independently. Siddaramaiah should stop giving such statements. In the coming elections let Siddaramaiah contest the elections and we will give him a befitting reply. Everyday is not Sunday, Siddaramaiah should stop his cheap talks against the JD(S). I will go to Mysuru in the coming days and will discuss with the leaders in Mysuru. In the country especially the youth of DK are working in the gulf countries. Most of them will come back within 8 months, how will Siddaramaiah rehabilitate those who return?.”
“When JD(S) is organizing the unity march, the Congress government is not giving us the permission. The officials also act like agents of the government. Officials who are working as agents, should get ready to face the consequences. The Congress or BJP will not remain in power. In 3 months the government will change and we are sure of coming to power,” challenged Kumaraswamy.
Dr Shantharam Shetty, JD(S) general secretary, B M Farooq, former minister Amarnath Shetty and others were also present.
