CMC Commissioner Manjunathaiah apologizes to opposition leader Dr. MR Pai
Udupi: CMC Commissioner Manjunathaiah apologized to Opposition Leader Dr. MR Pai following his statement in the last general body meeting which was called as insult by BJP members to a senior counsellor.
In the general body meeting held at Sathyamurthy Auditorium on February 28 the opposition members said that the absence of Pai in the meeting was the result of the statement by commissioner which has pained him. Commissioner said that he had no intention of hurting the opposition leader but it was a provocation from his side. He also said he shared good relations with Pai from 12 years and would apologize to him.
The war of words was witness between BJP and Congress councillors over apology to Dr MR Pai. CMC President said that she was pained during the BJP councillors had levelled allegations on her but no one was offended then. Councillor Ramesh Kanchan said that the BJP councillors were known in offending many Councillors in past by levelling baseless allegations on them. With the apology of Commissioner the council meeting resumed.
Councillor Ramesh Kanchan said that CMC should effectively respond to the queries of the councillors on the water supply issues. Water supply monitoring officials said that the areas with water supply issues are effectively monitored. The 99% of water supply issues are solved.
RFO Clifford Lobo said that for tress posing threat to people will be cut down after a letter is submitted to forest department through CMC. He also said that new plants will be planted in coordination with the CMC councillors in their ward. The tree monitoring committee is effectively functioning and any issues in the jurisdiction of forest department should be brought to his notice and he will effectively respond to the same.
CMC Vice-President Sandhya Tilak Raj, CMC Standing Committee President Shobha Kakkunje and others were present.
