CM’s Kaushalya Karnataka Scheme to train 5 Lakh Youth in State – Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru: “In the last budget the Chief Minister has allocated funds for training youth aged between 16 to 35 years in skill development under the “CM’s Kaushalya Karnataka Scheme” to help them earn their livelihood. Under this scheme, more than 5 lakh youth in the state will be trained. All educated, skilled or uneducated youth can apply under this scheme.

For registration the government has launched the website kaushalkar.com said the district minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai in a press meet held at the DC office here on May 11.

Addressing the mediapersons Ramanath Rai said, “The aim of this training is to provide skill development training. Our first step is to enroll the names of the youth who are interested in undergoing training. Once the enrolment is completed we will train the youth according to their interest and capacity. Uneducated youth can also apply for the training. Through training, they can improve their skills. The duration of training will vary depending on course. The scheme will be launched on May 15 at the Town hall and those interested can enroll their names in the portal through special counters at the venue.”

Ramanath Rai further said, “Under this scheme, 70% of the youth will get jobs. 20% of the jobs are reserved for SC, 7% for ST and 15% for minorities. Those who are interested in working in the gulf countries will have good opportunities of getting jobs. Teams have already been formed under the presidentship of Chief minister Siddaramaiah in the state-level – Karnataka Kaushalya Mission, district-level – district Kaushalya mission and Taluk-level – Taluk Kaushalya mission. On May 15, at 11:00 am CM Siddaramaiah will launch the scheme in Bengaluru. In the district-level, the launching ceremony will be held on May 15 at 11:00 am at the Town Hall and the Taluk centres simultaneously.”

Addressing the mediapersons ADC Kumar said, “The registration will be open from May 15 to May 27 at all the taluks in the district. Counters will be opened at the Government first-grade college Car street from May 15 to 27. Those who are interested in registering for training can log on to www. kaushalkar.com and register their names. Once the registration process is completed we will select the youth for the courses they have applied and training will be given accordingly.

DC Dr Jagadeesha, information officer Khader Shah and others were also present.
