Co-operative Sector Udupi Felicitates Dr Rajendra Kumar and Raviraj Hegde
The programme began with an invocation. Director of SCDCC Bank Dr Devi Prasad Shetty Belapu welcomed the gathering. Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math Inugurated the programme and graced the occasion.
District Minister In-charge Pramod Madhwaraj along with MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake, Kota Srinivas Poojary, Mahila Okkuta President Sarala Kanchan felicitated Dr Ranjendra Kumar and Raviraj Hegde with a shawl, Peta, Garland, Flowers and memento.
Speaking on the occasion minister Pramod Madhwaraj said that today we have felicitated the newly elected president of Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation Dr Rajendra Kumar and National Dairy Excellency award winner, Raviraj Hegde. Rajendra Kumar and Raviraj Hegde both hail from Udupi district and it is a proud moment for us.
Rajendra Kumar started the Navodaya Self help group in the undived DK district and these SHG’s spread across the state only because of Rajendra Kumar. The SHG’s in many parts of the state have achieved success in bringing the women to the mainstream. The SHG’s in our districts have become a source of inspiration for the women’s welfare formation. SHG’s are a viable alternative to achieve the objectives of rural development and for the community participation in all rural development programmes. Rajendra Kumar brought a tremendous revolution in the lives of Women through SHG’s. The state government is always with Rajendra Kumar, he added.
Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake said that Dr Rajendra Kumar and Raviraj Hegde have brought changes in the Co-operative sectors. On their way, they faced many challenges and achieved their goals. Navodaya Self-help groups have lighted every house in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi and empowered women to lead a prosperous life in the society. Rajendra Kumar is a glittering star, men like him are so rare in this world.
Today Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Union Ltd, has a brand image because of the great efforts under the presidentship of Raviraj Hegde. Sorake lauded Rajendra Kumar and Raviraj Hegde and called them good human beings.
Former Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary and Mahila Okkuta President Sarala Kanchan also spoke and also urged Rajendra Kumar to join politics.
Udupi CMC president Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, TP president Nalini Pradeep Rao, Co-operative sector leaders Yashpal Suvarna, Krishnaraj Saralaya, Kaup Divakar Shetty, Indrali Jayakar Shetty and others were present.
