‘Coalition govt in state will collapse after poll results’ – Kota Srinivas Poojary
Udupi: The coalition government will collapse after the poll results are announced, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary said.
Speaking to media persons, Poojary said the exit polls had showed the prospects of BJP coming to power again. The allegations of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that EVMs have been tampered with were levelled to hide her failure and the rejection of her party by the voters.
Poojary said that BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa had exuded confidence that BJP would get more than 22 seats in Karnataka and the exit polls have been mirroring the same scenario.
“Though exit polls have been predicting 20 seats for BJP in Karnataka, we are hopeful of getting more than 22 seats,” he said.
Cracks developed in coalition government during the Lok Sabha election. Now with BJP more or less coming to power again, the internal clashes have reached the pinnacle. This state government, led by Congress-JDS, will collapse soon, he said.
On JD(S) leader and MLC Basavaraj Horatti statement that Assembly should be dissolved and a new election should be announced, Poojary said that Horatti being a senior politician had understood that the coalition government had failed to meet the expectation of the people.
He has understood that the purpose with which this government was formed had not been achieved.
