Coastal Friends and Karnataka Sangha Bag KSSM Throwball Trophy
Abu Dhabi: The Koosamma Shambhu Shetty Memorial (KSSM) Throwball tournament was held in Abu Dhabi here on January 18.
Coastal Friends team managed to beat KCO Abu Dhabi in an electrifying thriller to take home the most prestigious Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial (KSSM) Trophy 2019. In the women’s throw ball Karnataka Sangha Abu Dhabi emerged winner in a closely fought finals defeating Konkans Dubai team.
The prestigious KSSSM tournament is organized every year in memory of late Koosamma Shambu Shetty, mother of Padmashree Dr B R Shetty. Sarvotham Shetty welcomed the gathering.
The programme was inaugurated by releasing the balloons in the air. Chief operating officer (COO) of UAE Exchange Sudhir Kumar Shetty was felicitated on his retirement.
Dr B R Shetty the chief guest could not attend the programme due to other commitments. His daughter-in-law Shivani Binay Shetty spoke on behalf of Dr Shetty and the family.
The inaugural was followed by matches. The following were the teams who participated enthusiastically in the tourney.

Men’s Throwball teams, ACME Mangalore Strikers UAE, KCO Abu Dhabi, Coastal Friends, Bunts Dubai, Konkans Dubai and Karnataka Sangh Abu Dhabi.
