Colourful Mosaru Kudike Marks End of Sri Krishna Janmashtami
Mangaluru: To mark the end of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Mosaru Kudike was held in various places like Attavar, Kadri Kambla, Kulshekar, valencia and Sanghaniketan on August 24.
Mosaru Kudike is observed on the second day of Sri Krishna Janmashtami, to imitate the action of Lord Krishna and the Gopalakas. To observe Mosaru Kudike, youngsters form human pyramids to reach the top of the ‘Chappara’ to break the earthen pots filled with curds, saffron water, goodies, cold drinks, vegetables, cash prizes and eatables.
At Attavar, there were tableaux and tiger dance. The Okuli Team Attavar consisting of 120 Youth formed pyramids and broke the earthen pots, while 25 members of Devanga youth Association splashed water on the pyramid, to break it and give others a chance to break the pots. A large number of people including children witnessed the Mosaru Kudike in spite of the rains. This was the 110th year Mosaru Kudike.
Police Commissioner Dr Harsha also visited Attavar and took part in the Mosaru Kudike celebrations.
