Colourful Procession marks Virat Hindu Samajotsava in Temple town

Udupi: On the occasion of the Virat Hindu Samajotsava, marking the Dharma Sansad of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a colourful procession was held from Jodukatte on Sunday, November 26.

The procession which was flagged off at Jodukatte near Big Bazar passed through Diana Circle, K M Marg, Triveni Circle, Service Bus-Stand, Hotel Kidiyoor Road, City Bus Stand, Kalsanka, Kadiyali and Culminated at the MGM College Ground Indrali.

The city was adorned with saffron flags, the processions included folk troupes. Women clad in saffron saris turned up in large numbers and chanted bhajans during the procession. The procession route was decorated with banners and saffron-coloured buntings.

The district police had made arrangements to control any untoward incidents during the celebrations. Tight security was deployed in front of religious centers and sensitive areas of the town.
