Comedy Nite ‘Bale Telipale’ Raises Funds for AC Nuns ‘Housing Project’
Mangaluru: The Apostolic Carmel Congregation established in 1868 July 16th with an aim to improve the quality of life of the people of the coastal region of Mangaluru by educating the children and providing them a holistic and value based education. St. Ann’s Convent was the first to be established and it is our privilege to belong to this hallowed spot, the root from which its branches and shoots have now spread all over India, Srilanka, Pakistan, East Africa and so on. The tiny mustard seed sown in the soil of St.Ann’s has grown into a mighty tree over the past 148 years catering to the educational needs of children and adults at all levels including the differently abled children.
On the occasion of the Celebration of sesquicentennial (150 years) of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, Mangaluru in the year 2018, an event called ‘a Housing Project’, providing houses for the homeless was contemplated. To mark this momentous occasion, a unique comedy evening “Bale Tellipale’ fame Prashamsa Group Artists, Kaup plus lots more in aid of this project was held on Sunday, the fifth of February, 2017 at 5.30 pm at St Agnes Special School. MLA’s JR Lobo and Moideen Bava and other eminent persons graced the occasion.
The line-up during the show consisted of Telikada Barsa, Tulu Comedy along with a Magic Show by Apoorva Group, dance by Boys Zone Team and Musical Nite by Beat Box Troupe, Bengaluru as special enthrallment. The Apostolic Carmel Congregation which has been instrumental in encouraging and imminent with support on all fronts to ensure that this show was a thumping success and becomes a memorable experience for a noble cause is what all were awaiting for- and so it did with a large number of audience patronizing the event, and making it a success.
