Commotion Between Hotel Owner and Group, One injured
Bantwal: A commotion between a Hotel owner and a group of youth ended in the stabbing of a youth by the hotel owner at Panemangaluru here on January 14 late night.
The injured has been identified as Mohammed Naufal (26), from Nehru Nagar Panemangaluru.
According to the police, on January 14, Mohammed Melkar from Kaikamba went to Panemangaluru to bring chairs for his brother’s shop for the inaugural ceremony. When they were traveling by auto Naufal heard loud music in Hotel Chicken Cafe and Fishawi Family Restaurant. Naufal along with his friends stopped the auto, went to the hotel and asked the hotel staff to stop the music. In this connection, there was a commotion between the hotel owner Yasin and the youth. Yasin’s brother intervened convinced Yasin and others not to fight on the silly issue.
Later Naufal and his friends went to Melkar to get the chairs. When they were returning from Melkar Yasin stopped the auto and there was an exchange of words. In a fit of rage Yasin stabbed Naufal with a vegetable cutting knife.
As soon as the incident took place the locals from Panemangaluru and Nehru Nagar, gathered in front of the hotel. Some youth pelted stones at the hotel causing damage. As soon as the news spread the Bantwal Town police SI Nandakumar reached the spot. The police closed down the hotel to bring the situation under control.
Naufal was rushed to a private hospital in Thumbay for first aid, later he was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
Police are investigation the case.
