Confraternity Sunday Celebration at St Joseph Vaz Church, Mudipu
Mangaluru: In view of the titular feast of St Joseph Vaz on January 16, confraternity Sunday was celebrated on January 12, 2020 with great devotion. The solemn Eucharistic celebration began at 7.30 am presided over by Rev. Fr Joseph D’Souza, OCD along with Fr Benjamin Pinto, Fr Shaun Rodrigues and Fr Denis D’Souza. In his homily, Fr Joseph highlighted that in Baptism we all have received a mission to bear witness to Jesus Christ in our own capacities. Moreover, we need to wonder and imitate the Eucharist which portrays Christ’s self-giving to everyone.
After the mass, followed the Eucharistic procession from St Joseph Vaz Church to Mudipu junction and then back to the church. Having reached the church, the main celebrant gave the benediction. Under the guidance of Rev. Fr Benjamin Pinto, the Parish Priest, Naveen D’Souza, Vice President, Mrs Irene Veigas, Secretary, gurkars, various association and Parish Parishad members; gave a helping hand for the smooth organization of confraternity Sunday.
