Congress and Like-minded Parties will Defeat BJP – Sudarshan during Manifesto Release in DCC
Mangaluru: “The 2019 elections is not about any political party. It is an election between two ideologies. We believe that in this Parliamentary Elections, the Congress and other like-minded parties will defeat the BJP. We have always successfully delivered on the responsibilities given to us by the people of the country. Through this Manifesto, we have given a commitment to the people”, said KPCC Vice-President V R Sudarshan during the release of the Congress Manifesto at the DCC office Mallikatta here on April 5.
Addressing the mediapersons , Sudarshan said, “In the last five years, not a single policy of the NDA Government has been successful. Instead, they have spread hatred and anxiety throughout the country. On the other hand, the Congress whether it is in power or not has a national responsibility. In the 10 years of the UPA Government, we have given the people policies such as RTI, RTE, Right to Food Act, Land Acquisition Act, National Rural Health Mission, and Agriculture Loans. The NDA-1 Government had given farmers only Rs 9300 Crores. On the other hand, the UPA Government led by Manmohan Singh had given farmers Rs 8 Lakh Crores in loans.”
Further criticizing the Modi Government, Sudarshan said “They reduced the glory of the Parliament and ruined its proceedings. Even their cabinet ministers do not show a collective responsibility. They have ruined institutions such as the Judiciary, CBI, CAG, Planning Commission, and the Election Commission. How pathetic was Demonetization? They said they would eliminate black money, Naxalism, fake currency, and terrorism.”
On April 4, in a pressmeet MLA Vedvyas Kamath had compared the parliamentary rankings of Nalin Kumar Kateel and Rahul Gandhi. In response to a question about the BJP’s comparison of Rahul Gandhi to Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sudarshan said, “Even after visiting Mangaluru several times, I have not heard from anyone that the MP of Dakshin Kannada has been successful. Is it a big deal to simply spend money given by the Parliament? What projects sanctioned by the Central Govt. has he brought to the district?”
DCC President Harish Kumar, Former Minister Ramanath Rai, Congress spokesperson Vinayraj, Sadashiv Ullal and others were also present.
