Congress is dead, says senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu

Mysuru: Senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu said, “Political analyst Yogendra Yadav once told me that Congress must die. But, everyone with common political knowledge knows that Congress is dead.”

He was speaking at ‘Prof K Ramadas Nenapinalli’ programme here on Sunday. “We keep hearing several complaints by the Congress leaders like EVMs are responsible for the defeat in Lok Sabha elections and BJP won the elections using money power and the caste and religion equations. But the grand old party has not made any efforts to introspect the defeat,” he
opined.

“There was no ideological struggle against the BJP. Instead, the political parties, across the nation, fought elections to further their interests. Communists in West Bengal deviated to Right. The BJP is swallowing regional parties like python. The saffron party will come to the forefront in Communist bases -West Bengal and Kerala,” said, Mattu, also a former media advisor to ex-chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Superstition and religion have become an industry now. The places of worships have turned into party offices and gods into publicity materials. The demons in Yakshagana and Bhoothakola too sought votes for Modi. Communal politics has taken a driving seat while the cultural politics relegated to back seat, he lamented.

He expressed concern that communal politics has begun and bhakts have mushroomed everywhere. The bhakts are ready to retaliate even against their parents, if they speak against Modi. This is spreading like an epidemic. he rued.
