Congress party working against democracy by disrupting Parliament – Shobha Karandlaje

Udupi: As a nationwide call by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) holding the Congress party responsible for the Parliament washout in the second phase of the Budget Session, the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje began a day-long hunger strike in front of the DC Office Manipal on April 12.

Speaking to media persons MP Shobha Karandlaje said that the Parliament is called the Temple of the nation and all discussions related to the nation are held in the parliament. The Nation’s development, problems etc will be discussed by the peoples’ representatives during the parliament sessions. The opposition parties mainly the Congress did not allow the parliament to function during the Budget session.

The Congress has become a marginal party instead of a mainstream party in the parliament and the country. The Congress party is an old party in the country and they don’t know to respect the parliament session. The Congress party is working against democracy by disrupting the Parliament. They don’t have their own parliamentary strategy for both the Houses. They don’t have parliamentary logic.

Despite repeated failures in derailing the development model of the Prime Minister, the opposition Congress has been constantly disrupting the Parliament and not allowing the government to bring several important legislation which is aimed at making India a stronger and better nation.

The Congress party does not want the country to progress and they don’t allow Parliament to function even for a single day. To protest the Congress party’s attitude in the Parliament, prime minister Narendra Modi, Party President Amith Shah, all the union ministers and all MP’s will be observing a day-long fast across the county, she said.

BJP leaders former Kundapur MLA Srinivas Shetty, former Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon, BJP leaders Sukumar Shetty, Dinkar Babu, Uday Kumar Shetty, Githanjali Suvarna, Yashpal Suvarna and others were present.
