Congress sees opportunity in BJP’s attack on Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Amid political slugfest between Congress and the BJP on Chinese transgression in Galwan Valley in Ladakh, the Congress has ceased the opportunity by targeting the Prime Minister and the BJP, the party leaders said.

The Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been targeted by the BJP for his persistent questioning to the Prime Minister more so after the PM’s statement in the all party meet that nobody has intruded into Indian territory. This led to Sharp and specific attack by the Congress targeting the Prime Minister.

In reply, BJP is also hitting out Rahul Gandhi by questioning Nehru to Rahul Gandhi’s visit to China in 2008. The attack on Wednesday came from BJP President J.P. Nadda who called Rahul Gandhi a dynast and said, “A rejected and ejected dynasty is NOT equal to the entire Opposition. One dynasty’s interests are not India’s interests. Today, the nation is united and supportive of our armed forces. This is the time for unity and solidarity. Relaunch of ‘the scion’ for the nth time can wait.”

But Congress seems to be enjoying the moment as in the Congress Working Committee meeting held on Tuesday, the leaders were unanimous that this is the right time to question the government and the Prime Minister in national and political interest.

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi said, “BJP would do a better job, of running the Government if they actually listen and heed Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji’s advice instead of attacking him personally.”

A CWC member said, hitting out at Rahul Gandhi will give no result to the BJP but will place him at the centrestage as media is taking note after his February 12 tweet when he alerted the government about the pandemic.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said, “What happened in the past, why it happened? You know, it is really immaterial.”

The goal is clear that the Congress wants to engage the BJP on the ongoing crisis and “it seems BJP is upset with the kind of support Rahul Gandhi is getting.” said another Congress leader.

The Congress leaders asserted that it was Rahul Gandhi who was the first to raise the issue of Covid-19.

Rahul Gandhi asked for all party meeting on important issues and pointed to the fact that the Government owes the Indian people the truth over the Chinese attacks on our soil and on our territory, said Gogoi.

“Instead of criticizing us, BJP would do a better Job if they took Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji’s advice,” added Gogoi.
