Congress will Win all 13 seats in Coastal Districts – Ivan D’Souza

Udupi: “In the upcoming Assembly elections the Congress party will win more than 130 seats in the state and all the 13 constituencies in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts”, said Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at the Press Club, Kaup on May 4.

Addressing the media persons Ivan D’Souza said, “Prime minister Narendra Modi and Amith Shah’s dreams will not be fulfilled in the Karnataka elections. The present wave is in favour of Congress and the party will retain power after the May 12 elections to the Legislative Assembly. BJP has already realized the fact that they are not going to come to the power in Karnataka. The Congress leaders are not engaged in damaging the images of opposition leaders but the BJP is putting false allegations.”

Ivan D’Souza further said, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has created history by launching several welfare schemes and development programmes. The people of Karnataka are showing their support to the Congress. All the surveys have proved that the BJP will not come to power, so they were trying to join hands with the JD(S). Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah assert that the BJP will wrest power in the state assembly polls. Their “strategy” of other states would not succeed in Karnataka. He also said that any attempt to break the society would not be possible in Karnataka, as “secularism was deep-rooted” in the state”.

Responding on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah contesting from two constituencies “with fear of losing“ and also over fielding his son for the May 12 polls, Ivan pointed out that the PM had contested from Varanasi and Vadodara constituencies during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. BJP is worried about the party not crossing 60-70 seats. Sri Ramulu and JD(S) state president Kumaraswamy are also contesting from two constituencies.

Responding on MP Shobha Karandlaje’s statement on life threat to PM Modi at Udupi Sri Krishna Math, Ivan said, “Shobha Karandlaje has insulted Lord Sri Krishna by speaking about the threat to life faced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Sri Krishna Math. Is there a need for any special security to visit the Temple? PM Modi is visiting Pakistan without any fear, why does he need security to visit the Udupi Krishna Math. If the PM has no security then how will the union government provide security to the common man?”
