Congress Won’t Tolerate Insult to Siddaramaiah: Veronica Cornelio
Udupi: KPCC Spokesperson Veronica Cornelio stated that insulting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah won’t be tolerated. A case has been registered at the Manipal police station against BJP leaders for disrespecting the CM’s portrait.
In a press statement, Cornelio said, “Every Indian has the right to protest lawfully, and we won’t object. However, disrespecting the CM’s portrait by hitting it with a slipper is unacceptable. MLAs present should have prevented it instead of condoning the behavior.”
Cornelio emphasized that Congress isn’t engaging in vendetta politics but has filed a complaint for insulting the CM, causing pain to party workers. She noted that BJP seems to have forgotten similar cases filed in BJP-ruled states.
“BJP, which preaches culture and civility, shouldn’t indulge in mischief. Congress will respond appropriately through legal means. MLAs and corporators should focus on delivering justice and solving problems in their constituencies rather than making statements and forgetting their responsibilities,” the statement said.
