Coronavirus Positive Cases Tally Breaches 10,000 Mark, Death Toll Rises to 305 in DK

Mangaluru: With four COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 305, and the total number of Coronavirus positive cases have reached 10,137 after 228 persons tested positive in Dakshina Kannada district on August 22.

Out of the 228 positive cases, 102 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), thirteen persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI), seventeen persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, four persons had travelled from the Gulf, and two had travelled from another district. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 90 others.

Of the total cases, 150 persons are from Mangaluru, twenty-three from Bantwal, fifteen from Puttur, eight from Sullia, seven from Belthangady, and 25 from other districts.

Meanwhile, 320 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.

So far, 10137 positive cases have been reported in the district, and 305 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2319 active cases in the district.

All the 228 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospitals for further treatment.
