Corrupt CM Siddaramaiah and K C Venugopal should step down – Yeddyurappa

Udupi: BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said that the BJP workers should work until the Corrupt Chief minister Siddaramaiah and AICC general secretary in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal, who is indicted in a solar scam in Kerala steps down. He was addressing the party workers during the Parivarthana Yatra at Chittaranjan Circle Udupi here on Sunday, November 12.

The Navakarnataka Parivarthana Yatra’s objective is not to make me the Chief Minister but to ensure peace and order in the state, by making the state Congress-free, he said and predicted that the BJP will win more than 150 seats in the assembly elections.

Siddaramaiah is displaying the arrogance of power and running the administration like a dictator. He alleged that the CM had insulted the religious sentiments of the devotees of Dharmasthala saying that he visited the temple after eating fish and chicken.

Minister George has no morality to continue as the CBI has filed an FIR against him in connection with the suicide of DySP MK Ganapathy. The BJP legislators will not allow the upcoming legislative session in Belagavi to function smoothly until Bengaluru Development Minister K J George steps down.

The Siddaramaiah government has been looting the State exchequer, instead of safeguarding the interests of the people of the State. The countdown had begun for the Congress government. As a result of the corrupt practices by the Congress government, the State has become bankrupt and to cover it up, properties were being mortgaged to raise loans. If BJP will come to power in the next assembly elections we will re-open and probe all cases including those filed against the Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), he added.

Hitting out at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on his comment saying Narendra Modi is scared of him, Yeddyurappa said that the chief minister is a ‘baccha’ against Modi. “It is not PM Modi who is scared of him. Giving details about the achievements of the NDA-led government, he said that the Modi government has strengthened the fiscal health.

Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje said that when the BJP government was in power several pro-people programmes were introduced by Yeddyurappa. The majority of the programmes launched by Yeddyurappa were stopped by this government. A well-governed state will not have this issue. Irrespective of the party which is in power, the government has to continue programmes taken up by the previous regime. People want the BJP to come back to power so that it can continue the good programmes it had launched in the past.

He alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was “misusing” the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) by forcing it to file “false” cases against the opposition leaders. The state government was weakening the institution of Lokayukta by constituting the ACB, which is controlled by the chief minister.

The Congress government and Siddaramaiah were also criticised by Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, MP B Sriramulu, former Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat and former MP Jayaprakash Hegde who were also present.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, BJP district president Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, former MP Thejaswini Ramesh, former MLA Lalaji R Medon, ZP president Dinakar Babu, vice president Sheela K Shetty, BJP leaders like Udaykumar Shetty, Yashpal Suvarna, Shreesha Nayak, Suresh Nayak, Veena Shetty, Akshith Shetty Herga, Prabhakar Poojary, Dinakar Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna and others were present.
