Cotton-laden Truck catches fire at Brahmavar
Udupi: A truck containing a load of cotton caught fire at Salmara near Brahmavar on Wednesday, August 30 morning.
According to the Brahmavar PSI Madhu TS, the Eicher turck was on its way to Brahmavar from Hassan. The driver of the truck came to know about the fire when a person on a passing vehicle noticed the smoke and informed him. He suddenly stopped the vehicle and called the fire brigade.

Traffic on the road was paralysed for two hours. Meantime Fire fighting personnel arrived immediately and succeeded in dousing the fire. However, most of the cotton was destroyed in the fire.
A total of Rs 60000 worth cotton was destroyed in the incident. The Brahmavar Police have registered a case.
