Country Inn Bar License Cancel, Two Excise Inspectors suspended
Udupi: Two excise Inspectors have been suspended for submitting a wrong report of Hotel Country Inn owned by a local politician. The license of Hotel Country Inn has also been cancelled by the excise commissioner here on November 29.
The suspended excise inspectors have been identified as Jyothi and Shubhadh Nayak.
According to the primary reports, on November 27, the excise department received information that the Country Inn hotel was selling liquor illegally. A team led by Jyothi and Shubhadh raided the hotel. But while submitting the report they mentioned that there was no illegal sale of liquor at the hotel.
In this connection the Excise DySP, Vinobh investigated the case and found out that the hotel was, in fact, selling liquor without a license. Vinobh submitted a report to the Excise commissioner about the wrong information submitted by Jyothi and Shubhadh. The Excise commissioner Nagesh suspended both Jyothi and Shubhadh.
