Couple Die after being Run Down by Eicher at Nanthur Junction
Mangaluru: In a tragic road accident, a couple was killed after an Eicher medium truck hit their two-wheeler and ran over them at Nanthur here, on June 12.
The deceased have been identified as Amreen, aged about 26 years, and her husband Mohammed Sameer, aged about 30 years, from Beltangady.
According to an eyewitness, when the couple, on their two-wheeler, was nearing the Nanthur Junction, an Eicher truck loaded with cement hit the two-wheeler while trying to take a turn to the left. The couple were thrown to the ground and run over by the truck.
Both the injured were rushed to the hospital but Amreen died on the way. Mohammed Sameer, whose condition was critical, succumbed to his injuries later in the hospital.
ACP Traffic Manjunath along with the East traffic police reached the spot and are investigating.
