Couple’s fight in Puttur Ends in Father’s Death
Puttur: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old man was killed by his son when he intervened to stop his son from assaulting his daughter-in-law at Balaya, Kedambadi here on August 18.
The deceased has been identified as Gangadhar Naik (60), from Balaya, Kedambadi.
According to the police on August 17 night, Sashidhar Naik (32) who is employed in a private company in Puttur was assaulting his wife. Sashidhar’s father Gangadhar Naik intervened and tried to stop his son from assaulting his daughter-in-law. Sashidhar getting upset with his father started to fight with him.
As father and son were fighting, Sashidhar hit his father on the head with a wooden log injuring him badly. Injured Gangadhar was rushed to the hospital in Puttur. After administering first aid, he was shifted to the hospital in Deralakatte, but he succumbed on the way.
A case has been registered in Sampya police station under section 302 IPC, and the investigation is on.
