Court Grants Permission to Bannanje Raja to attend Mother’s Funeral
Udupi: The Udupi district and session court have granted permission to Underworld Don Bannanje Raja to attend the final rites of his deceased mother.
Bannanje Raja’s mother Vilasini Shettigar (78), a retired teacher passed away on August 25, reportedly of injuries that she sustained having slipped and fallen at her residence.
Advocate Shantaram Shetty filed a petition in the residence of District and Sessions Judge Venkatesh T Nayaka to allow Bannanje Raja to participate in the funeral of his mother. The judge, who had reviewed the application, granted the permission to Bannanje Raja to attend his mother’s funeral. The court order copy has been sent to Hindalga jail in Belgaum through Udupi Town PSI.
Raja will be brought to the city under tight police security from the Hindalga jail in Belgaum on Monday, August 27 morning, it is gathered.
It may be recalled that on July 9, amid tight police security Bannanje Raja was brought to the city after the court permitted him to meet his mother who was suffering from health issues.
