COVID-19: 10-month-old Child Tested Positive in Sajipanadu, Gram Panchayat Under Quarantine
Mangaluru: A 10-month-old child has been tested positive for COVID-19 in Sajipanadu, Bantwal on March 26.
According to a press statement by the Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Roopesh, the child was suffering from severe acute respiratory illness. On March 23, the child was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. Following the guidelines, the throat SWAB of the child was sent for testing.
On March 26, the district Health and family welfare officer confirmed that the child tested positive for COVID-19. The close relatives of the child are now closely monitored by the authorities and tracing the contacts is continued.
To prevent COVID-19 from spreading to the nearby places, measures including putting the entire Sajipanadu Gram Panchayat under quarantine have been taken.
All measures have been taken for the containment of the virus. The district administration has requested the people of Sajipanadu not to come out of their houses.
