COVID-19: Eighty Inmates from Mangaluru Prison Temporarily Shifted
Mangaluru: In the wake of COVID-19 the government has taken all necessary measures. To prevent the coronavirus from spreading, the district administration is requesting everyone to maintain social distance and follow all the guidelines.
In this connection, the officers of the Mangaluru Prison decided to shift the inmates to other district prisons where there are fewer inmates. In the Mangaluru prison, there are 311 inmates including 6 women. The capacity of the prison is only 210.
On April 18, keeping in mind the safety of the prisoners, the prison officials shifted 80 inmates from Mangaluru to other prisons in the state.
