COVID- 19: Janata Curfew Strictly Observed in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: The people of Mangaluru responded well to the call by prime minister Narendra Modi to observe Janata Curfew on March 22 and stay indoors from 7 am to 9 pm to protect themselves from the pandemic CoVID- 19.
On March 22 the people of Mangaluru observed Janata Curfew by staying indoors. Only a few vehicles were seen on the road. Hospital buses on duty were seen plying on the road with “Hospital Duty” boards.
Some pedestrians were seen on the road wearing masks. All the hotels and restaurants remained closed. Medical stores were open providing service to the people.
The Bus Operators Association extended their full support for the Janata Curfew. No city buses or services buses were seen on the road. The central Market Merchants Association also extended their support, the central Market was shut down on March 22 for the Janata Curfew.
All the churches will peal the bells at 5 PM to express the gratitude and great appreciation for the brave men and women who render their noble and selfless service during this critical time of crisis.
