COVID-19: Nirmithi Kendra Udupi Donates Rs One Crore to CM-Relief Fund
Udupi: The fight against the coronavirus has united the country and people from all walks of life are contributing wholeheartedly to the relief fund announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week.
The state-run NGO Nirmithi Kendra, Udupi district has donated Rs 1 crore to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund to help the country battle COVID-19.
On April 2 Arun Kumar, project director of Udupi Nirmithi Kendra handed over the cheque to the Deputy Commissioner who is also chairman of Nirmithi Kendra at the Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion Deputy commissioner G Jadaeesha said, “For the first time Nirmithi Kendra has come forward to contribute Rs 1 crore to the CM Relief Fund. The cheque will be sent to the CM’s office through the home minister. Seeing the good gesture of Nirmithi Kendra, others should also come forward. Let us all do our bit for a healthier and stronger future.”
Udupi district deputy director of Information department Khader Shah was also present.
