COVID -19: Over Fifty Vehicles Seized for Lockdown Violations in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: City police have seized more than 50 vehicles for lockdown violations in the police commissionerate on March 30.
Police commissioner Dr Harsha in his tweet mentioned that many people are on merry rides on their two-wheelers and cars. “Our Traffic Division has noted the numbers of such riders and drivers, and such vehicles will be seized. Be informed and comply with instructions, don’t risk the lives of other citizens,” he said.
Some people have a “Don’t care attitude”. They violate all the guidelines and go out for a drive or ride. The district administration announced a total lockdown for three days, with no relaxation to buy essential items on March 30. Dr Harsha had requested the public not to come out from their houses as the police are strictly monitoring vehicular movement and would seize vehicles not adhering to the lockdown conditions. But many do not heed the instructions and take their vehicles on the road. The police have so far seized more than 50 vehicles flouting the lockdown instructions.
