COVID-19 Tally Reaches 14600, Death Toll Rises to 400 in DK
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, the COVID-19 tally has reached 14600 and 400 persons have so far died in Dakshina Kannada. On September 5, 377 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 9 persons have died in Dakshina Kannada district.
Out of the 377 positive cases, 50 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 178 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 19 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 130 others.
Out of the 377 cases tested positive, 192 persons are from Mangaluru, 45 from Bantwal, 64 from Puttur, 37 from Sullia, 20 from Belthangady and 19 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 311 persons were also discharged from the hospital and COVID Care Centres after complete recovery.
So far 14600 positive cases have been reported in the district and 400 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2961 active cases in the district.
