COVID-19: Udupi Police Set-up 32 Check Posts to Stop Unnecessary Movement of Vehicles

Udupi: The Udupi Police have set up 32 check posts in various places within the district to check the unnecessary movement of vehicles except those transporting essential commodities during the lockdown period.

The district police have set up 8 check posts in Uttar Kannada, Dakshin Kannada, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru borders. Meanwhile, 24 additional check posts functioning 24×7 have been set up within the district.

Police teams have been deployed in shifts at these inter-district check posts to check unnecessary movement of vehicles except those transporting essential commodities and for emergencies.

The police have been making periodic announcements through the public address system from vehicles about the promulgation of prohibitory orders and seeking the cooperation of the public by staying indoors, said Additional Superintendent of Police Kumarchandra.

There shouldn’t be starvation even if things get worse. Every house has a garden. Every garden has edible plants and animals. I read somewhere that colocassia leaves when boiled is more nutritious than rice with more protein, fat and fiber. People living in flats might have a problem.
